Mijas, Spain

Mijas is a charming little town in the hills,

overlooking the Spanish coast in

the Southern region.

Their claim to fame is "donkey taxis". You
can ride a donkey or horse and carriage
all over town.

Too fun not to try!

The face of the Virgin Mary appearred at this spot.

Rosaries hung from the rocks.

Viewpoint overlooking the coast.

Alhambra Palace

The Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain

was constructed in the mid 14th century by

the Moorish rulers.

Moorish poets described this place as

"a pearl set in emeralds"

Silly Tourist Stuff

Wow, we made a stop on the bus and were treated

to a cold drink and a show! Nothing like washing

your tour bus in your Speedo! Our whole group

enjoyed this--we just cracked up.

Starbucks rocks!

Guaranteed to find some ice here.

These bull fighting ads were everywhere.

We didn't want to see one because they

kill the bull and we don't like that, but

the signs were very atmospheric.

Ole! Is it me?

Looks better on Julie.

Happy travelers arriving in Madrid.

Dancing horse with handsome rider

and the beautiful flamenco dancer, Estell.

Beutiful hotel lobby in Sevilla, Spain.

Beauty was everywhere, even in unexpected places.

My favorite flamenco dancer. This guy

was hot! He could dance on his heels and

he was the definition of focus. When he was

on his heels, going faster and faster, you

could hear a pin drop. Then the cheers of "ole!"

I want to be like him.

Fabulous shoes were everywhere! So many

shoes, so little euros to spend.

The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plains.

These are those plains .

Fun on the tour bus. You gotta

entertain yourself somehow.

Viva Portugal! We love Portugal, almost more

than Spain because their pastry is better, and their

bull fights are more sporting. Enstead of killing the

bulls, they have to round them up back into their pens.

That's more sporting. Our bus driver, Fernando, was a

Portugese ex-bullfighter.

City Views of Portugal and Spain

Granada, Spain. This was one

of my favorite cities. The gypsies

live nearby this area in caves.

The view from our rooftop pool in Sevilla.

From our hotel balcony. What a beautiful city.

Looking down at part of the city of Gibraltar, in

UK territory. Southern tip of Spain, right across

from Morocco. Not a bad shot taken from a

bus window while driving by!

Lisbon, Portugal. We took an elevator up to a

viewpoint to get this shot of the city. That's a

park and a monestasry in the background.

Cordoba, Spain. This is the bridge leading to

the Cordoba Cathedral.

Toledo, Spain.

Toledo was my daughter's favorite city.
